Be it beginner or experienced, there is always more to learn
We’ve expanded our riding lessons programs to accommodate a larger variety of instructing for more riding levels.
We are also pleased to be working with Four: Thirteen Therapeutic Riding Association.
Winter registration is now open! For more info on our Fees, click here.
This program has been specifically designed for those with little or no riding experience.
Experienced lesson horses and tack are provided. The primary focus of this program is as follows:
Horsemanship: “Getting to know your horse” sessions covering basic safety, catching, grooming, tacking. etc.
Learn balance, position and how rider affects the horse when mounted (as well as the basics of walking, trotting, turns, stops and more).
These lessons require students to learn and become independent in catching, grooming/ tacking, and turning out their lesson horse (as well as advancing skills to walk, trot, canter, turn, and stop the horse).
Experienced horses and tack are provided.
Once riders have gained confidence and balance, they progress to the intermediate level. This program has been designed for riders who are comfortable at the canter level and would like to start working on further advanced and more complex skills.
Experienced lesson horses and tack are provided.
This specialized program is for those students wishing to start jumping or continue to advance in the jumper/ eventing discipline.
Jumping physiology, communication, pacing, patterning and strategy are all part of each lesson.

At the very heart of High Country Equestrian Center is a passionate and hard working community ~ 4:13 Therapeutic Riding Association.
We are thrilled to have this local organization call our equine center home, and that they are able to offer a variety of different therapeutic programs for all ages and level of ability. These programs empower physical, psychological, social and emotional experiences and growth for every rider. Horses have always held a magical ability to engage and understand humans. As such their presence, movement and interaction has had and will continue to have significant impact on those around them and foster incredible and lasting memories.
